Gregorio Funes was born in the city of Córdoba, Argentina in 1979. His professional training began in graphic design and photography. In 1998, he took the Pre-Foundation course at Central Saint Martin School, London. He has a degree in Graphic and Advertising Design from the Siglo XXI University, degree in typography and new media from the Blas Pascal University, Córdoba. In 2019, he completed a postgraduate course in Art Direction, at the London College of Communication, London. His work focuses on the relationship between art and design, his work is framed within post-production practices, by making use of images that come from various sources, from old books, maps, consumer images of the networks, appropriation of works that are inscribed within the history of art, among others; Through the resource of accumulation and overlapping or exclusion, it builds new layers of meaning, generating works of great aestheticism and visual impact.
