Riitta Hellén-Vuoti is a Finnish artist. Born in Oulu in 1959, she now works in Kuopio. Her artistic focus is contemporary art and poetry. By education she is a licensed medical specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
She is interested in the human being and understanding life. In art it´s possible to be surrounded by all the questions and concepts. When she was young, she thought that she would grow up to be a painter, and now life has managed to make it possible. She started using oil paint on canvas, but now she also uses mixed media. Paintings and poetry are mindscapes. They can sometimes be the same, painting and poem – she call them poem-painting.
