“My first artistic practice started in my childhood. I painted and drew a lot as I was a child. But then I went another paths on my career way. When we moved to Germany I have chosen the career in business and studied International Business in Dortmund. After my studies I worked as a store manager in the jewellery and watches company for many years. But I always tend to my creative side, and completed a foundation course at the Schule für Mode. Graphic and Design in my free time after work from September 2008 to August 2009. This course included modules such as painting, object drawing, figure drawing, fashion drawing, collage, tailoring and sewing, creativity training, collection development and final fashion shows. After this foundation course I studied Master of Design in a distance learning program at the University of Northumbria simultaniously to my full time job as a store manager and set up my own fashion label JOLONTÉ VOUS!

Working with fabrics, colours and patterns has ignited my imagination and has nurtured my creative mind. But I knew that there was more for me. And I found that through painting and collage making when I started painting and experimenting with fashion related themes and concepts about three years ago. Since then I have developed strong vision of what I would like to achieve and communicate as an artist even if I have my artistic practice simultaneously to my part time job and obligations as mother of a four years old girl. My inspiration derives from the fashion topics and comprises currently the following concepts that I am developing: The Art of Pattern These artworks show the hidden parts of the garments which you never observe in this way. The pattern is a beautiful construction and in my vision should be shown and should encourage the contention of the observer with his or her own clothing. This gives more appreciation to the garments worn in the not really sustainable world of fashion, in which collections change already after a couple of weeks. At the moment I am working with the patterns which were made for my fashion collections for JOLONTÉ VOUS!. But I would like to approach another independent fashion brands and communicate their exceptional patterns through my future artworks. The Art of Fabric Fabrics spark my imagination. After collection production a lot of fabrics remain as leftover. I have experienced this myself during the time I run my fashion label. So it is important for me to communicate the beauty of the fabrics in another way and show that designs can last longer that just one season. This theme takes also inspiration from the real exceptional fashion pieces at the same time. As a goal during my work on this concept I would like to approach independent labels and produce artworks with their fabrics which are leftovers to communicate their outstanding achievement and show observers of my work another point of view on these fabrics. Shredded Fashion This concept is based on the current discussions in terms of the waste produced by fashion industry every season. Not sold garments are shredded or destroyed in another ways by big companies. Metaphorically I use fashion magazines and the pages from them on which every season new fashion trends are shown. I shred these pages and compose them on canvas to new pieces. I am also planning to shred dresses from my own collection to show that it is quite difficult for the independent designer to destroy collections as the work put in and done is much more appreciated than at the big companies. And this would be a great step for me. After shredding the garments I am going to use these fabrics in my artworks as well. In conclusion I would like to add that I have a strong desire and vision to develop myself as an artist and produce artworks that deal with topics which should be discussed and observed from the new side.
