A Glimpse of Swevenia….
The artworks and visions presented here are just a small glimpse into a land far away… Swevenia. It is a place I know exists... An escape, where I enjoy spending my time… A realm full of wonder, with captivating characters and personalities that make me smile.... it is an enchanting land where I find myself returning time and time again… 
This is my happy place…
I hope with these images we can all remember that magic really does exist in each of us - in our imaginations. We need to remember that some journeys can take you far from home, when you close your eyes in stillness… and just daydream!

    Bec Joannou is an Australian Photographic Artist based in Adelaide, South Australia. She holds a Certificate IV and Diploma in Photography and Photo Imaging from the Centre for Creative Photography. Bec uses photography as an expressive medium which enables her to share her dream-like visions by constructing enchanting photographic composites. She is inspired by the beauty and wonder of the natural world, childhood play and literature. She has a passion for creating whimsical worlds which spark the imagination of the viewer! Bec is currently writing a story to accompany her enchanting illustrations about the fascinating characters from her imaginary world, Swevenia. In her spare-time she enjoys spending time with her family, running and unplugging from the world – with a good book in hand and a very strong coffee!
