(founder of AsheqArt, LLC)
I am a Persian-American artist and writer. I received formal training in watercolors at age 16, in my home country of Iran. I work with acrylics and watercolors to create surreal and abstract forms, landscapes, and Persian calligraphy. I love people. I seek to have authentic interactions--each of these interactions has the potential to become the subject of my works. My works are often inspired by literature and philosophy. I explore themes of mysticism, love, dreams, and philosophy as influenced by great Persian thinkers (Rumi, Hafiz), Greek philosophers (Socrates, Aristotle), Stoics (Marcus Aurelius), and modern sages (Espinoza, Martin Buber, Mehr Baba, Dr. Elahi Ghomshei) and artists (Marc Chagall, Kayhan Kalhor, Yayoi Kusama, Howard Finster). I love all forms of art, but some of my favorite styles are Impressionism, Surrealism, the Hudson River School, and spiritual art.
