Photography has been a part of my life in various guises since my early teens, assuming different importance through each stage of my life.
Having barely taken a serious image for twenty years whilst I ran my own music publishing company I was determined to remedy this when I sold up in 2018.
Since then I have once again become engrossed in the creative outlet that photography provides. Much has changed with the advent of digital and post processing and if this wasn’t challenge enough I decided to venture into genres of photography that I had no previous experience of. This has helped me considerably in developing my own artistic identity. My prime motivations are beauty, form, light and shadow and I strive to caputre these qualities in my images.
Although open to many different styles of photography I am developing a special interest in portraiture and dance photography. In the precise moment captured by the camera my aim is to represent, accurately and sympathetically, the personality and character of the sitter or the dance. Each image should imply movement and personality despite being an isolated moment in time.
