Born on October 5, 1978 in southern Chile, Christian Fierro was trained as an architect in his hometown of Temuco. From his childhood he showed interest in the arts, interest that translates into his fascination with drawing. His passion for digital desig n tools and fractal geometry led him to investigate various digital media, to explore the plastic possibilities and the almost infinite variations of computer-generated abstract expressions.
For 5 years he keeps creating only as a pastime, until his work is discovered in Instagram by gallerist and art curator Mona Youssef, who selects him for the XI Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art, Italy, and in the X International Art Salon Artshopping in Carrousel du Louvre, Paris. Both exhibitions, carried out in 2017, mark the beginning Chris Fierro´s career as an emerging artist of international level.
Christian defines himself as a self-taught artist, whose artistic work comes to be the conjunction of his personal interests in design, architecture, photography, drawing and technology, resulting in a unique plastic language, which manages to catch and trick the senses of the observer.
Our lives wander in a highly technological era, in which technology reaches almost all areas of human life. Art is not the exception, and today, digital technologies allow us to expand our range of visual expressions, combining human creativity, computerized precision. Inside this scenario, Chris Fierro's work is an exploration of the infinite possibilities of visual expressions originated from the combination of his own pure creativity, the precision of complex software, and the mathematical beauty of fractal geometry, originating complex abstract compositions.
Chris defines his artwork as "Parametrized Abstractions": a visual hybridization of the mathematical precision of the computer with the subjectivity of human perception/interpretation.
Possibilities are endless...
