Anni's roots lie in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and the beating heart of Northern Finland. She has felt at ease about painting and drawing since a young girl and in elementary school she used to draw coloring pictures for her classmates. She also attended the art school of Rovaniemi for nearly 10 years and got a grade 5/5 from her diploma work "Paikka Unelmille/A place for dreams". The work consisted of two oil paintings and one painting on glass. Anni got most of her ideas for the works from her dream world and from her favorite city, Venice.
Currently, Anni works mainly with environmental law and renewable energy legislation. Nature has always played an important role in her life and she wants to learn how she could contribute to protect the beautiful white winters of Lapland for the next generations.
While studying law and working at the same time, she did not have enough time or energy to focus on painting. However, after graduation she slowly rediscovered her passion for art and will not let it slip away again.
Anni is most grateful for her family and friends, and of course Anni's fiancé, who means the world to her and who have always encouraged and supported her passion for making art.
Anni has always been interested in different languages and cultures and loves to meet people around the globe. Anni has studied several foreign languages and while studying law, she has also lived in Québec and Brussels.
Besides painting, Anni spends her spare time taking slow walks by the sea, reading and occasionally practicing circus.
"I'm still learning", stated Michelangelo at the age of 87. That is the goal for Anni, to never stop learning. She truly believes that art is freedom and does not want to lock herself in any narrow box. She never gets tired of trying and failing like a modern day Renaissance Woman.
