Los selknam, fueron un pueblo originario de Chile el cual, vivieron en el extremo sur de nuestro pa�_s.
Eran polite�_stas, n�_madas, recolectores y cazadores. Ten�_an conocimientos astrales y de navegaci�_n por lo cual, pudieron sobrevivir por a̱os.
Adem��s de soportar las bajas temperaturas del sur de Chile. Fueron un pueblo, lleno de creencias y culturas de las cuales, hasta el d�_a
de hoy se tratan de descifrar. Sus ceremonias eran incre�_bles, en ellas, la pintura corporal era lo mas llamativo.
En estos rituales, personificaban sus dioses, e inciaban a los m��s j�_venes. Su ceremonia principal se llamaba "Hain".
Fuera de todo lo hermoso de este pueblo y de sus costumbres tan incre�_bles, sufrieron demasiado.
Los colonos y nuevos pobladores del territorio, los trataron como animales, e incluso los llevaron a Europa en viajes de altamar
de 60 d�_as, para ser part�_cipes, en zool�_gicos humanos, en los cuales, los expon�_an desnudos, con sus vestimentas,
e incluso con ropa de Arist�_cratas, dentro de Jaulas, donde les arrojaban comida.
Empez�_ una cazer�_a, que el mismo estado chileno permiti�_. Los nuevos colonos asentaron propiedades. Al hacer esto,
no pudieron evitar que los guanacos se escaparan de los territorios, dejando sin fuente de alimento a los selknam.
Al verse sumergidos por el hambre, los selknam empezaron a robar corderos y ovejas de los terranientes, lo que dio inicio, al
principio del fin de esta masacre.
Los colonos, empezaron a pagar dinero por cada selknam muerto, algunas personas
se compadec�_an y llegaban con trozos de oreja o dedos, para as�_ no asesinarlos, por lo cual, los terratenientes, empezaron a pagar
por cabeza. Y as�_ el pueblo Selknam termin�_ por extinguirse.
Poco se sabe de su sufrida historia, y m��s aun de su incre�_ble cultura.
En esta imagen, retrat̉ a su diosa Tanu, la cual, se representaba como autoridad mensajera y principal testigo del ritual.
Exhib�_a una figura extraordinaria. Llevaba pinturas que simbolizaban uno de los cuatro cielos.
Muy alta, su cuerpo era ancho casi rectangular, la parte superior ten�_a forma c�_nica.
La estructura sujeta por los hombros, se confeccionaba con arcos amarrados cubiertos con piel de guanaco y
rellenos con juncos, hierbas y hojas.

Su cultura, y representaci�_n solo queda en el recuerdo poco observado de esta historia, reconocer el gran genocidio, en el cual,
fue part�_cipe nuestro mismo estado, que dio por la finalidad, la vida de este pueblo que yace, en las heladas aguas de tierra del fuego.
En ella, vive a̼n Tanu, presente de esta ceremonia, que da inicio a los mas jovenes, y le da el comienzo a su vida como integrante adulto
de la tribu.

Esta obra, la compuse con el hecho de renacer a este pueblo, este desconocido y masacrado pueblo, que dentro de sus adversidades,
demostraron ser un pueblo rico en cultura, en conocimiento astral y marit�_mo, confeccionaron sus propias vestimentas, y lo mas incre�_ble,
fue el sobrevivir al fr�_o del sur chileno, y mas a̼n fue tratar de sobrevivir a su genocidio.
Si no cuidamos nuestros or�_genes, no tendremos nada que recordar, ni contar, ni evaluar, el que no conoce su historia, esta condenado
a repetirla.

Esta obra, lleva por nombre "Tanu, la testigo" ya que, esta Diosa era imprescindible para esta ceremonia, y a la vez act̼o como testigo
omnisciente de su genocidio.
Por el amor que se le tiene al origen, y a nuestra naturaleza. Composici�_n realizada con mucha emoci�_n.

Tanu, the witness.

The Selknam were a native people of Chile who lived in the extreme south of our country.
They were polytheists, nomads, gatherers, and hunters. They had astral and navigation knowledge, so they could survive for years.
In addition to withstanding the low temperatures of southern Chile. They were a town, full of beliefs and cultures of which, to this day
Today they are trying to decipher. Their ceremonies were incredible, in them, the body painting was the most striking.
In these rituals, they personified their gods, and initiated the youngest. His most important ceremony was called Hain.

They could not prevent the guanacos from escaping the territories, leaving the Selknam without a food source.
Seeing themselves submerged by hunger, the Selknam began to steal lambs and sheep from the land, which began,
beginning of the end of this massacre.
The settlers began to pay money for every selknam killed, some people
they sympathized and arrived with pieces of ear or fingers, so as not to assassinate them, for which, the landowners began to pay
per head. And so the Selknam people ended up becoming extinct.
Little is known of its long-suffering history, and even more of its incredible culture.
In this image, he portrayed his goddess Tanu, who was represented as a messenger authority and principal witness of the ritual.
He exhibited an extraordinary figure. He wore paintings that symbolized one of the four heavens.
